Your Preschooler's Rights
Did you know that around eight percent of all young children are identified as having learning disabilities that may keep them from reaching important milestones as expected?
If you have questions about your child's development, your pediatrician, well-child clinic staff, or preschool teacher can help to answer your questions and suggest next steps.
If you find that there is reason for concern, please read NCLD's Parent Advocacy Brief, Preschool Services Under IDEA, to learn about the services your preschooler may be entitled to under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
You and your preschooler have rights, learn more about them today!

The Obama Administration has released its blueprint for reforming the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) (currently known as No Child Left Behind).
The blueprint challenges states to embrace educational standards that would put America on a path to global leadership by adopting college- and career-ready standards and reward schools for producing dramatic gains in student achievement.
